The resistance of air to forward movement, also known as aerodynamic drag. Factors influencing air resistance include the shape of the vehicle, protruding objects, turbulence at the rear, the skin surface of the vehicle, and the amount of air passing through the vehicle for cooling and ventilation. The faster a vehicle travels, the greater the air friction and power needed to overcome this drag.
