Bedplate
- Machine Base: A bedplate is a cast-iron or fabricated steel base to which the frame of an engine or other machine is attached. It provides a stable and rigid foundation for the machine, ensuring proper alignment and support.
- Engine Support: The lower part of an engine that rests on the foundation is also referred to as a bedplate. It typically houses the main bearings and provides a secure and stable base for the engine components, ensuring efficient operation and reducing vibrations.
