E10, commonly known as gasohol, refers to a blend of gasoline and ethanol, specifically containing 10% denatured ethanol and 90% gasoline by volume. This blend is widely used as a fuel for vehicles and has become increasingly common due to various environmental and regulatory factors. Ethanol, derived from renewable sources such as corn or sugarcane, is added to gasoline primarily to reduce overall carbon dioxide emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. E10 is compatible with most modern gasoline engines and is mandated or encouraged for use in many regions to promote cleaner energy practices and reduce air pollution.
