A TD rim, short for “Two-Dot rim,” is a type of wheel rim designed to securely hold tubeless tires in place. It features two grooves running around the circumference of the bead seats. These grooves are designed to accommodate special extended bead toes found on tubeless tires, providing a more secure fit and helping to prevent the tire from slipping or dislodging from the rim during use. This design is particularly beneficial for off-road or heavy-duty applications where tire stability is crucial.
