A “TL Carrier” refers to a trucking company that specializes in providing Truckload (TL) shipping services. Unlike Less Than Truckload (LTL) carriers, which consolidate freight from multiple shippers into a single trailer and make multiple deliveries, TL carriers dedicate entire trailers to the cargo of a single shipper. This approach is commonly used for larger shipments that require the entire capacity of a truck trailer or for shipments that need to be transported directly from the origin to the destination without intermediate stops.
