Toothed Belt

A toothed belt, also known as a timing belt or synchronous belt, is a type of belt that features teeth on its inner surface. These teeth engage with corresponding grooves on the wheels or pulleys it connects, providing a positive drive with no slippage.

Structure:

  • Material: Typically made from reinforced rubber or plastic, often with embedded fibers or cords for added strength and durability.
  • Teeth: Parallel teeth along the inner surface of the belt, designed to engage with matching grooves on the wheels.
