The twin ignition system utilizes a distributor equipped with two sets of contact points, each corresponding to its own coil within separate primary circuits. This setup allows for the sequential firing of spark plugs, with each set of contact points opening alternately. As a result, one set of points fires spark plugs for half of the engine’s cylinders, while the other set fires the remaining cylinders. This configuration enhances ignition efficiency and performance by ensuring a consistent and synchronized ignition timing across all cylinders.
