A UV stabilizer is a substance added to materials such as plastics and rubbers to reduce their sensitivity to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV stabilizers function by absorbing the harmful UV radiation and dissipating its energy in a harmless form, thereby protecting the material from degradation and damage caused by exposure to sunlight and other sources of UV radiation. These additives are commonly used in various applications where prolonged exposure to sunlight can lead to deterioration, discoloration, or weakening of the material.
